As Managing Director of MassMutual Ventures, Mark Goodman, along with Eric Emmons and Doug Russell, manages MassMutual Ventures investment portfolio. Before joining MassMutual Ventures, he was the Founder and General Partner of Terawatt Ventures, a venture capital firm focusing on technology innovation in sustainability, cybersecurity and hardware. Prior to that, he was a Partner at Brookline Venture Partners, a venture capital firm which he co-founded in 2004. Under his leadership, the firm achieved competitive returns during historically challenging years for the venture capital asset class. Mr. Goodman has worked closely with portfolio companies on strategy, business development, restructurings and exits. He is a Board Observer at Recorded Future and Tamr.
Mr. Goodman began his career at First Chicago (now part of Chase Bank), where he gained broad experience in corporate finance, capital markets and credit analysis. During his academic career, he was a Lecturer in Philosophy at Boston College and in Liberal Arts at Emerson College.
Mr. Goodman was appointed by President Obama to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Council in 2010. He serves on the Board of Trustees at Temple Israel of Boston.
Mr. Goodman received his Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and philosophy, Phi Beta Kappa, from Emory University, and earned his Master of Business Administration in finance and marketing from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. He also holds a Master of Arts and Ph.D. in philosophy from Boston College.
